If you are thinking or organising a prestigious event in Porto, be it a gala dinner, seminar, meeting or conference, then one of the most glamorous locations is the old stock exchange building, the Palácio da Bolsa. It’s largest room will fit 550 for dinner or a conference for 700 and there are 11 rooms in total varying greatly in size. The Palácio da Bolsa is also very centrally located, within a few minutes walk of the popular Ribeira riverside area and comprehensive catering facilities are available. For events in Porto in historic surroundings with beautiful period decoration and old-fashioned charm there is nowhere quite like the Pálacio da Bolsa.
Here we show the various rooms available for gala dinners and conferences in Porto.
The Hall of Nations
This is the central atrium of the Pálacio da Bolsa, with 506m2 of space that can be used for a variety of events, including gala dinners, conferences, exhibitions, product launches and exhibitions. It will seat 700 people for a conference or 550 for dinner.
The Arabian Room

The General Assembly Room
A wood-panelled room, with a more sombre feel to it. It is sometimes used locally for signing ceremonies, prestigious meetings in Porto and the like. It is a great location for a seminar or conference, but can also be transformed into an unusual location for a dinner. The size is 153m2 and it will seat 150 or 120 for dining.
The Court Room
The walls of this room are covered in floor to ceiling paintings, but there is fixed seating, so this space is quite inflexible. It could be used for a presentation or seminar. The space is 142m2 and it will seat 120 people, but is not suitable for dining.
The Golden Room
This is a prestigious room that is quite flexible in terms of how the space can be used for meetings or dining. With 84m2 of floor space, it will fit 80 people for either a conference or dining.

The Jurors Room
This is the old court room from the days when the Pálacio was still the commercial hub of Porto. The seating is fixed round the periphery of the room, which can make it a good space for a meeting where everyone can be face-to-face. The total area is 56m2 and it will seat 22 people.
The Former Presidents Gallery
This is a space blessed with ample natural light and is a brighter more airy space than the rest of the Pálacio. It is often used for less formal events or dinners. The total floor space is 45m2 and it will seat 40 for a meeting or 30 for dining.
The President’s Room
This is the old office of the president of the Trade Association of Porto and the pictures on the wall depict various trades for which Porto was famous. It is the most intimate space at the Pálacio da Bolsa, with just 42m2 of floor space and room for 30 people to be seated or to dine.
These are the hallways of the Pálacio and are typically used for standing events, such as drinks receptions coffee breaks.
The António Calém Auditorium
This is the only more modernised room in the Pálacio da Bolsa, and is used for a variety of conferences, seminars and meetings set up in the theatre style. There is a floor space of 140m2 and it will seat 95.
